Our browser extensions (Safari and Chrome) operate locally and only:

• Detect downloadable links and magnet links on web pages
• Send download URLs to the Nazel app via local URL scheme (nazel://)
• Do not collect, store, or transmit any browsing data or personal information

2. How We Use Your Information

All information collected by Nazel is used solely for:

• Managing and tracking your downloads
• Enabling download resumption after interruptions
• Providing download progress and status information
• Storing your download preferences
• Facilitating browser-to-app communication for download initiation

3. Data Storage and Location

All data collected by Nazel is stored exclusively on your local device:

• Download information is stored in your Application Support directory (~/Library/Application Support/Nazel/)
• Download checkpoints and resume data are stored locally
• App preferences are stored in macOS UserDefaults
• No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties

4. Data Transmission

Nazel does not transmit your personal data, download information, or browsing activity to any external servers. The only network connections made by Nazel are:

• Download Requests: Direct connections to download sources (URLs or torrent trackers) that you explicitly initiate
• Update Checks: Optional checks to GitHub for app updates (no user data is transmitted)

5. Third-Party Services

Nazel does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share your information with any third parties.

6. Browser Extensions

Our browser extensions have minimal permissions:

• Safari Extension: Requires access to web pages to detect downloadable links and magnet links
• Chrome Extension: Requires access to web pages and download management to intercept downloads
• Extensions do not collect browsing history, personal information, or transmit data to external servers
• All communication between extensions and the app occurs locally via URL schemes

7. File Access Permissions

Nazel requests file system access to:

• Save downloaded files to your chosen location
• Resume interrupted downloads
• Manage download checkpoints

These permissions are requested through macOS standard security-scoped bookmarks and are stored locally. We do not access files beyond what is necessary for download functionality.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your locally stored data:

• Data is stored using macOS standard security mechanisms
• File access uses security-scoped bookmarks as required by macOS
• No data is transmitted over the network except for downloads you explicitly initiate

9. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access: All data is stored locally and accessible through the app interface
• Deletion: You can delete downloads and their associated data at any time through the app
• Uninstallation: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (you may need to manually delete the Application Support folder if desired)
• Extension Removal: You can disable or remove browser extensions at any time through your browser settings

10. Children's Privacy

Nazel is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us.
